SITE INFORMATION
Site includes two buildings that we are combining, The Alexandra Hotel + The Ivory Bean House. This site has 6 floors, but we are working in the first four floors, the remaining two floors will be used for longer term stays (to be provisional apartments between emergency sheltering and independent living).

This project was 1 of 4 student projects selected to be presented within the hiring process for Art & Design Department Chair at Suffolk University, March of 2025. I presented to three panelists during in-person interviews, to provide attending faculty the opportunity to observe each candidate’s teaching style and expertise.

The Morning Glory is a flowering vine known for closing its flowers overnight and re-opening them in the morning. This Center will serve as a place for youth experiencing homelessness to ‘close up’ like a morning glory, and then open and continue growing once the morning comes. Youth will have access to necessities like showers, laundry facilities, and meals. Along with educational services, case management, and much more. The morning glory reminds us of the beauty in the journeys of these youth.
